Global Hope 365’s Advocacy Card Campaign: A Commitment to Protecting Children

GlobalHope365 News

At Global Hope 365, we are dedicated to advocate for the rights and protection of vulnerable children. Our recent advocacy card campaign is a testament to this commitment. Over the past few months, we have tirelessly worked to urge California elected officials to support two crucial bills: AB 2924 and SB 1414. These pieces of legislation aim to end Child Marriage and strengthen legal repercussions for those who exploit children for sex. Here is a look at the milestones we have achieved in this campaign.

Important Milestone: First Batch of Advocacy Cards Delivered

On April 16, our founder, Rima Nashashibi, personally delivered the first batch of 500 advocacy cards to the post office. These cards were sent to urge California elected officials to support AB 2924 and SB 1414.

AB 2924: Ending Child Marriage

AB 2924 aims to end Child Marriage for anyone under the age of 18 with no exceptions, ensuring the protection of minors.

SB 1414: Strengthening Legal Repercussions

SB 1414, championed by Senators Shannon Grove (R), Susan Rubio (D), and Anna Caballero (D), seeks to enhance the legal repercussions for those who exploit children for sex. This groundbreaking bill proposes reclassifying the solicitation of a minor for commercial sex from a misdemeanor to a felony offense, with penalties including 2-4 years in prison, a maximum fine of $25,000, and mandatory sex offender registration.

This legislative advocacy highlights Global Hope 365’s unwavering commitment to protecting vulnerable children and pushing for stronger laws to combat exploitation. Let’s continue to make a difference together!
