Child Marriage Survivor Stories Summit
August 5, 2020
Global Hope 365 and the California Coalition to End Child Marriage hosted part two of the two-part Virtual Child Marriage Summit on Aug 5, 2020. The 90 minute summit included a panel discussion focused on the current law in California regarding Child Marriage and strategies for advocacy followed by a 40-minute working session on advocacy actions.

Participants were able to transform their emotional connection to the victim stories into focused action in ending Child Marriage. Child Marriage Survivor Stories Summit

Global Hope 365, the California Coalition to End Child Marriage, and the Center for Biotechnology and Global Health Policy at the UCI School of Law hosted part one of the two-part Virtual Child Marriage Summit. The 2-hour summit engaged participants in a dynamic and meaningful way to learn from expert speakers as well as learn from Child Marriage Survivors by listening to their stories.

Four Child Marriage Survivors and Activists shared their personal stories in breakout rooms to allow for smaller groups and questions. Each survivor shared their story for 10 minutes and participants were able to ask questions. It allowed for a heartfelt connection to the stories. Many left in complete awe of the strength of the survivors who shared their stories with us. The conclusion is that Child Marriage is Child Abuse! "The personal stories were very impactful, it made it real," commented one participant.

Human Trafficking and Child Marriage Forum
September 14, 2019
Global Hope 365 officially launched the California Coalition to End Child Marriage at the Human Trafficking and Child Marriage Forum on Saturday, September 14, 2019 co-hosted with the UCI Initiative to End Family Violence at UCI School of Law. Rima Nashashibi, Founder and President of Global Hope 365 and Prof, Jane Stoever, Director of the UCI Law Domestic Violence Clinic, co-emceed the event.
The forum was an astounding success. Following the welcoming remarks of Supervisor Doug Chaffee and Irvine City Council Member Farrah N. Khan, Scholars, experts, legislators, and public officials shared research findings, examples from their work, and policy proposals for the way forward. The forum provided the opportunity to exchange ideas for solutions and increase collaboration and momentum for policy changes in the areas of Human Trafficking and Child Marriage.
We are incredibly grateful to the wealth of knowledge shared by the community leaders that shared their expertise on the complex social dynamics of Human Trafficking and Child Marriage. The speakers represented Waymakers, The Orange County Human Trafficking Task Force, the Riverside County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force, the San Diego Police Department.
